The Nitty Gritty

We are all different, on the inside & out, meaning that our bodies respond differently to exercise. No surprise there! (There are tons of research articles that explain why this happens & I would be happy to share them with those of you who are interested in learning more about that. Just shoot me an email!)


Because we are all so different, that means it takes time to learn your body & how it reacts to different exercises. You won't know until you try & I am happy to help you figure that out.


HOWEVER, any & all exercise will be working towards your goal. It works towards your goal because it gets you up and moving!!! The more you are up & moving, the more calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the more weight you will lose & the better you will feel. When we exercise, it is difficult not to eat more. It's a normal reaction & a lot of times our bodies do need the extra protein along with the increased activity level. This is why so many people go to calorie counting. It is efficient & gives a rough estimate of the caloric changes that are needed to reach your goal(s).


To lose weight, we want to expend more calories than we take in. In order to know if we are doing that, we have to keep a food diary & track our movement throughout the day so that we can get a better understanding of how many calories we have burned and how many we have taken in.


Assuming you are healthy, and do not need physician approval to exercise, we can begin right away. In order to develop the perfect program for YOU, I would conduct a physical assessment. During this assessment, we determine which muscles need strengthening and which muscles need relaxation (stretching).


REMEMBER, the results are up to you & consistency is the key to success.
